These panels have the highest efficiency of 20 % since they are made from pure silicon. They have a high power output, and they occupy a very small space. Besides, they can live for long. They are the most expensive of all the types of solar panels. Furthermore, they are hardly affected by high temperatures when they are compared to the polycrystalline cells.


These panels can be distinguished from the other alternatives due to their square shapes. They have speckled look and a blue color. They are manufactured when raw silicon is melted. The process involves in making them is cheaper and faster than the one used for the monocrystalline cells. They are cheap as compared to the monocrystalline solar panels but they have a lower lifespan and efficiency. However, they are affected by high temperatures. They have the same power out as the monotype.


Thin-film solar cells

These are solar panels which are manufactured by replacing some films of the photovoltaic material onto a single substrate. These panels are produced easily. They are the cheapest when they are compared to the other alternatives. Again these panels are very flexible, and they are hardly affected by extreme temperatures.

However, these panels take a lot of space. This makes them unsuitable for major residential installations. They have the shortest warranties since they have the shortest lifespan as compared to the poly and monocrystalline solar panels. These panels are an ideal option where space is unlimited.
